In Hong Kong, we are lucky to have advanced medical equipment and techniques. However, the living conditions in many remote areas are poor and the population cannot even receive treatment.
We do not need very fancy equipment, basic medicines and vaccines would do and they only cost few dollars. For instance, measles, a preventable disease, swept through African countries and took so many vulnerable lives. The disease is highly contagious and unvaccinated children are at great risk.
By donating HK$10 a week, that is HK$40 per month, in a year you will enable MSF field workers to vaccinate 200 children against measles infection and to save precious lives.
HK$10 a week is not very much for us who live in Hong Kong, but it means a lot for child. Your simple decision can rewrite their stories.
“We as a doctor can do are to persevere until the end to save more lives.” Dr. Akin Chan from Hong Kong said.
Saving lives in emergencies is a race against time. Without your support, our aid workers would not have saved many other lives struggling on the brink of death.
