Cold Box Vaccine Carrier
One of the most important things MSF can do to prevent serious illness is to vaccinate populations at risk. But most vaccines must be kept cool to remain active and effective. When you purchase cold box vaccine carriers you’re ensuring that vaccines are kept at an optimum low temperature from the time they leave the facility where they’re manufactured, until someone receives their inoculation.
Often, cold box vaccine carriers are delivered by MSF staff travelling by car or helicopter to remote areas. The carriers are insulated and lined with ice packs to keep the vaccines at the proper temperature for up to two days. Packed to capacity, they can hold up to 1,000 doses of some kinds of vaccines and can be carried by a single field worker.
