Conditions like these are very common and seen by MSF doctors in the field every day.

MSF doctors use the Rappaport type of stethoscope, with pivoting double chest pieces made of chromed brass. Each stethoscope has two plastic diaphragms, one for adults and a smaller one for children. Full transmission of sound is guaranteed, regardless of outside noises.

Properly functioning stethoscopes are key to a doctor’s work and are a tool that can help guide the doctor in making clinical decisions.
